Anderson Silva is BEAST!

UFC 101 was the 2nd time Anderson moved up to Light Heavy-Weight. The first time he moved up to that the division he fought James "Sandman" Irvin. James was a much bigger opponent for Anderson and is considered a larger Light Heavy-Weight. I honestly thought that Anderson would have some problems. Less then 2 minutes into the fight, the referee was standing over James protecting him for receiving any further damage. Ok, this is when I knew that Anderson is a LEGEND! His most recent move up to Light Heavy-Weight to fight Forrest Griffin was even more impressive. Knowing Forrest for his stand up game, I thought he would have Silva in SOME kind of trouble. I learned my lesson. Never doubt Anderson's skills again. Silva did not only beat him in the first round, but he embarrassed him. Knocked him down 3 times! Silva even put his hands down, stood infront of him Forrest and let him try to hit him. The KO punch was when Griffin threw 2 punches at Silva which he dodged and as Silva was moving backwards threw the punch to his face which made Griffin fall to the floor. This is when Griffin threw his hands up signalling to the referee that he's done. ANDERSON SILVA IS A BEAST!

Eminem - Warning Diss Track

My Thoughts: LMAO! Seriously, why would artists/people try to diss Eminem. Do they know what he's done in the past? Have they EVER listened to his tracks? Have they EVER watched his battle video's before he became a major artist? If they have, then they should know how he tore into most of the artists he battled. Eminem has been in rap battles since his early teens (Keywords: RAP BATTLES). He has had underground albums way before his major hit "The Real Slim Shady". This is what he's been doing throughout his LIFE! So you probably heard it already but this needed to go on my blog. Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon = ROASTED! Hopefully, they don't push him to the next level. If this is Em's warning, I wonder how the track would be if he did a CODE 3.

Building the Studio

As I continue to add/upgrade equipment, I am going to post a blog. The most recent addition was the Motif XS8. I must say, it was a very good addition. As a musician, the quality of the instrument sounds (Piano, strings, guitar, etc.) really matters to me and I can tell if it sounds close to the real thing. For example, the Grand Piano sound on my software sounds nothing like the Grand Piano sound on the Motif XS8 - Pure Quality. That goes for the Guitars, Strings, Bass, etc. The Rhode collection is ok. There's another keyboard that I'm probably going to buy to get me that good Rhode sound. The Motif XS8 is a keyboard that your eyes has probably glanced at while watching performances on TV. If there's keyboard player, there's a high chance they will be using the Motif XS8. Same keyboard that Scott Storch uses and other Major Producers. There's a big difference in quality of sounds from using my software programs to using the Motif.

Now, the hard part was learning how it works. Making a transition from software to hardware was difficult but after learning a few things, it's not that hard. Going through my iPod

As I was going through my iPod this morning I came accross The Concious Daughters - Fonky Expedition. Been playing it since then. This song definitely brought me back. On the production side of this song, the beat is well put together. It has that smooth but gangsta feel to it. To me, the bass line gives it that smooth/gangsta feel and everything else adds on to it including that guitar rift. Definitely a classic. So, I pulled it up on youtube. Another song I decided to add was Young Cellski's "Stressed Out" Feat. Lil Swoop and Baldhead. BarNone quoted a line from this song on Twitter and it brought me back to when I use to play this song EVERYDAY. Still a knock to me. Hit play, lay back and enjoy some good classics from the 90's.

New Work...

In the last 2 weeks, I've been working on a beat menu for somebody (name TBA) and here are SOME of the beats on that menu (I asked if I can let people hear some.) I've also made beats for other artists in the last 2 weeks ontop of working on this very extensive project. I have a full time job aside from music. How was I able to do this? By working 18 to 19 hours a day! Kind of like what I'm doing right now. I work hard because I love doing what I do. I grew up surrounded by music. My dad was the lead keyboard player for a Jazz Band and they practiced at my house 3 to 5 times a week! It was insane! But that's where I learned how to play all kinds of instruments and learned how to compose music. If I ever get to share my music with the rest of world, then that's an added bonus. But regardless, I love doing what I do.

Also, I added 2 tracks that I produced for Ceddy B's debut album. Definitely keep a look out for this.

(information i pulled from a site.) So you think you know about running a successful business and you figure that since you can rap, it would be easy for you to start and operate a record label. You get some instrumentals from some producers and you hit the studio to record some of your best work.

You have 5000 CDs pressed up and your artwork is killer so you figure you're ready to "do it big". You tell a few people about your CD and maybe someone in your family buys a couple to pass out to their friends.Then something weird happens...You expect people to come beat a path to your door but it doesn't happen. The CDs begin to collect dust over in the corner of the garage. This is a familiar senario for many Hiphop artists. "What went wrong?", you ask yourself. I would even say that most artist don't even have a business plan because if they had a business plan, they would have a marketing plan.Marketing is not hard. It is a science. It is measurable and it is do-able. It is a key ingredient to success in any business. As a matter of fact, all business are two businesses in one. Huh? What do you mean Mello?All businesses are in the business of providing their products or services to their target market. However all businesses must market their product or service and that is a business all to itself.

Marketing begins with identifying your target market. These are the people who are most likely to buy your music. You do this by researching your market with such things as surveys.What type of music do they like? How old are they typically? How much money do they earn? What type of clothes do they wear? W hat kinds of food do they eat? Where they hang out? What was the last Hiphop album they bought? etc.Once you've got this information then you are ahead of most artist and you are more likely to succeed. I will be giving out more music marketing information like this because I was once in the position where I didn't know what to do concerning getting my music out to my fans. Today, technology has changed the music business and the way we gather information is much easier than it was when I first took rapping serious.So if nothing else, please learn who your target market is because I want to reduce the learning curve most artist have when they decide to pursue music as a career.

2009 Forbes' Richest Rappers List

Jay-Z has dethroned last year's Hip-Hop Cash King, 50 Cent, to snag the title for the 2nd time. According to Forbes, the Brooklyn hip-hop mogul raked in a whopping $35 million between June 2008 and June 2009.

Forbes' 2009 Hip-Hop Cash Kings list is remarkably identical to the 2008 lineup. Diddy comes it at #2 with $30 million. Kanye West checks in at #3 with $25 million. 50 Cent and Akon round up the Top 5 with $20 million apiece.
